The Capacity Building Program was created to facilitate capacity building of agencies that work with African, Caribbean and Black communities throughout the province. The Capacity Building Program:
- Provides support to AIDS service organizations (ASOs) and other agencies to foster a better understanding of the issues and needs of African, Caribbean, Black people living with HIV/AIDS, and thereby strengthening capacity to respond to their needs.
- Meaningfully engages African, Caribbean and Black people infected with and affected by HIV/AIDS to be leaders in the response to HIV/AIDS.
- Helps to heighten HIV/AIDS awareness and mobilize African, Caribbean and Black communities through various community engagement activites.
- Promotes increased awareness as well as the implementation of the Ontario HIV/AIDS Strategy for African, Caribbean and Black Communities 2013-2018 (the ACB Strategy).
