If we don't talk about
HIV/AIDS in our
community, who will?
Capacity Building

The Capacity Building Program was created to facilitate capacity building of agencies that work with African, Caribbean and Black communities throughout the province. The Capacity Building Program:

  1. Provides support to AIDS service organizations (ASOs) and other agencies to foster a better understanding of the issues and needs of African, Caribbean, Black people living with HIV/AIDS, and thereby strengthening capacity to respond to their needs.
  2. Meaningfully engages African, Caribbean and Black people infected with and affected by HIV/AIDS to be leaders in the response to HIV/AIDS.
  1. Helps to heighten HIV/AIDS awareness and mobilize African, Caribbean and Black communities through various community engagement activites.
  2. Promotes increased awareness as well as the implementation of the Ontario HIV/AIDS Strategy for African, Caribbean and Black Communities 2013-2018 (the ACB Strategy).
